How to turn a photo into a cross stitch pattern

  1. Upload a photo. Pets, portraits and simple landscapes work best. Crop tight around the subject.
  2. Choose the size. Width in stitches decides detail. 80 stitches on 14-count Aida ≈ 5.7 in / 14.5 cm.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. The image is processed locally in your browser with the Canvas API. Nothing is sent to a server.

How many stitches wide should my pattern be?

For a pet or face, 80–120 stitches is a good start. Divide stitches by the fabric count to get inches (100 stitches ÷ 14 = 7.1 in).

Which thread brands are supported?
